Outwith principal June McCartin led a study on the practice of agency-coordinated intergenerational homesharing, commissioned by the cities of Boston, Cambridge, and Somerville, MA. The mixed methods research included interviews with a small sample of intergenerational homesharing coordinators across the US, quantitative analysis of potential homesharers in the subject cities, and a literature review on intergenerational homesharing with an eye toward program implementation. The research serves as a platform for discussion on building an inter-municipal homesharing platform, building on Boston’s successful pilot with Nesterly.
