Outwith Studio assissted the Cape Cod Commission to develop a Regional Housing Strategy for the 15 towns in Barnstable County, MA. Outwith led a team including architects and designers at Utile, attorney Mark Bobrowski, and real estate consultants Weitzman Associates in a set of discrete tasks that supported the Commission’s work:
- Zoning analysis (inspired, in part, by the National Zoning Atlas)
- Housing preference survey
- Regional housing entities research
- Housing finance tools research
- Multifamily residential design guidelines
- Land acquisition strategy research
- Model zoning bylaws: mixed-use zoning, design-driven residential zoning, single-family to multifamily conversion zoning, seasonal worker dormitory zoning, and year-round housing incentive zoning
- Model deed restrictions for year-round residents and workers on the Cape
Outwith’s June McCartin provides team-wide coordination and project management and is the lead on several content areas.
